Twenty-two players tackled the Highway 17 traffic on a Saturday trip to the Seascape Golf Club in Aptos. There they took on the unusual terrain and tricky greens on a course that's been around since 1926. Playing the forward tees helped lower the scores from our last visit back in 2015 when three of the money winners shot net 78.
The rounds of the day were shot by Adolfo Pina and Brad Miller both with a gross 75. In a card playoff to determine the winner in the First Flight, Adolfo had a better score on the last three holes to take the top spot. Brad then moved into the low net competition where his 14 handicap gave him a 61, one of the lowest net scores in recent club history. Other prize winners in the flight included John Harris, Buzz Ogren and Jack Simpson who took low gross at Seascape back in 2015.
Tournament Director Jim Breedlove shot a 93 to win low gross in the second flight. Low net went to Gary Pruitt who also won at Las Positas back on March 25. Chuck Pickett and Ken Arends completed the list of prize winners in the flight.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks for coming out.
